Story - I Will Wait Forever - Chapter 31 Part 1
I WILL WAIT FOREVER - CHAPTER 31 - Correcting the mistakes - Part 1
Ryan was about to go to his next class when a girl suddenly bumped him. Her things scattered on the floor, so he helped her pick it up. After picking up her books, he looked up and he saw Rica whose eyes are already red from crying. "Rica? Is there something wrong?" he asked as he handed her her books. "No..." she said in a low voice. She looked up at him and gave him dagger looks. "Leave me alone!" she shouted at him, then she ran away from him.
Ryan watched her as she ran. He knows how much she hates him, simply because he broke her friend's heart. But, he could sense that there's something more to that...
==================================================================
That afternoon after their soccer practice, Ryan overheard Lyle, one of his teammates, bragging again to their teammates. Curious, he decided to join them to hear one of his misadventures. "... and so after she saw me with my real girl, they only thing that she could do is cry! Man, she was really a cry baby!" he said. He's teammates laughed as he tell his story. "Guess you guys have to give me my 5 grand... I was able to make her my girl for the week..." Lyle continued.
Ryan smiled as he listens to his story, but deep inside, he wanted to kick him for making a girl cry. "I feel sorry for the girl... she didn't know Lyle made her his girlfriend for a week because of a bet..." he thought. He had once made a promise to a girl, and made her cry, and until now he's regretting it. It didn't even came to Lyle's mind that the girl he broke up with might be the one for him, but he just played with this girl's heart.
"Actually, Lyle... she was still crying. I saw her a while ago, and when she saw you with your girlfriend, she ran away... poor Rica!" one of his teammates said. When he heard Rica's name, he remembered the time she bumped to him. "Could it be that it's the same Rica?" he thought.
"Lyle..." Ryan called him. "Are you talking about Rica Mariano? The Fine Arts student?" he asked. Lyle gave him a smile and nodded his head. "Can you believe it? She actually told me I was her first boyfriend! She was so naive!" Lyle said, then he laughed hard.
His smile disappeared from his face when he found out the truth from Lyle. He was the reason why Rica was crying a while ago. "This bastard... you can't do that to my friend!" he thought. He clench his fist as he walked towards him. His sight began to dim, and all he wanted to do is kill him. "Did you now that she's my friend?" he said in a low voice. Lyle didn't answer. Before he knew it, Ryan's already standing in front of Lyle.
"Man... I'm sorry, I... I didn't know..." Lyle stammered. Just then, Ryan let out a punch. Lyle almost flew from where he is standing. "You bastard!" he shouted as he got near him. He held him up then punched his face again. Their teammates tried to calm him down, but they can't do anything with Ryan.
================================================================
Justin was walking near the soccer field when he saw Ryan beating up his teammate. He took off his bag, and ran towards the soccer field to stop him. "Ryan! Stop it!" he shouted as he run to him. As soon as he's near Ryan, he grabbed him and took him away from Lyle. "What the hell are you doing, man? Are you trying to kill him?" Justin asked. Ryan took a deep breath before answering him. "That guy..." he said as he pointed Lyle. "He broke Rica's heart, cheated her and made a bet out of her..."
After he heard Ryan's explanation, he walked towards Lyle and picked him up from the ground. "You started a bet regarding our friend?" he said as he looked at him sternly. "I... I didn't know..." he stuttered. He's so furious for what this guy had done to his friend, so he decided to defend Rica. "Well, I guess you know now how Ryan defends his friend. Let me show you how I defend mine!" he shouted on Lyle, then after that, he punched him in the face. Ryan was surprised with his action, but he didn't let Justin do it alone. He joined him and beat Lyle till he's black and blue.
===================================================================
Fresh from their fight, Ryan and Justin found themselves inside Mr. Vicar's office. A lot of students and professors witnessed how they have beaten up Lyle that afternoon. Ryan could sense that Justin's a little scared if his dad found out what happened. He smiled at Justin, then patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, they'll let us off the hook..." he assured him. Justin looked up at him and smiled. "Don't be too confident, Mr. Santillan. I won't let you get away with what you have done to my son." Lyle's father said. Ryan became silent as he waited for his dad to come.
After a few minutes, Ryan's dad entered the room. "I'm sorry, I'm late. I had a long meeting with a client before you called me regarding this incident." Mr. Santillan said as he entered the room. He sat beside Ryan, then looked at Lyle, whose face is already unrecognizable. "Oh, my... what have you done to his face, son?" he asked.
For an hour, they discussed what exactly happened at the soccer field that afternoon. Lyle's dad want Justin and Ryan suspended at first, but upon seeing Ryan's dad, he just asked them to pay Lyle's medical expenses. It turns out that Ryan's dad is one of their important clients.
After making an agreement, Ryan and Justin went out of Mr. Vicar's office. They saw Rica, who was patiently waiting for them. "I heard what happened at the soccer field... I want to make it up to you guys..." she said.
==================================================================
"I'm sorry if I caused you too much trouble... you shouldn't have beaten up Lyle... it's all my fault... Rica said after she told them what happened between him and Lyle. They were at cafeteria that afternoon, and she treat Ryan and Justin for snacks. "It's not your fault, Rica. Lyle's really a playboy... he got out of hand when I heard that he dated you just because of a bet." Ryan explained.
Rica smiled at him. Even though she avoided him and got mad at him for hurting Macy, he still showed that he's her friend by defending her from Lyle. "Thank you, Ryan..." she said in a low voice. "I know a way to repay you, Ryan, but I just wish I know where you could reach Macy..." she continued. "She would only call me once in a while, but she never told how I could contact her..."
"It's OK, Rica. I guess it's better that way... I guess she needs more time..." Ryan replied.
The moment Rica spoke Macy's name, he began to miss her again. It has been almost a year since she left, and since then she has not heard from her. He believed that it was her who called him last Christmas, but she didn't spoke a word to him.
Ryan looked up at Rica and smiled. It has been almost a year since he last talked to her. "Finally, we're OK again..." he thought. "Ryan..." he heard Rica call him. "I know it was wrong for me to be mad at you, but Macy's my friend, and I see what she has been going through before. It was the reason why I avoided you... I just hope we could be friends again..." Ryan smiled at her and held her hand. "I will always be your friend, Rica... nothing has ever changed..."
===================================================================
"Why?" he heard Justin ask him as they walk towards his car. He stopped walking, and gave him a confused look. "What do you mean?"
"Why did you got mad at Lyle when you found out what he did to Rica?" Justin asked again. He took a deep breath before answering Justin's question. "Two reasons. First of all, no matter what happened, Rica's still my friend. I can't let that jerk hurt her... I have to defend Rica."
"And the second?"
Ryan looked up at him. "It's my way of correcting my mistakes..." he answered. "I was a jerk before... that's the main reason why I lost the girl I love. I know I can't make it up to Macy, at least I can make it up to her friend..."
He heard Justin made a sigh of relief. "What's that about?" he asked. Justin looked at him and smile. "Oh, it's nothing..."
"OK, then let me ask you the same question. Why did you got mad at Lyle, and why did you helped me beat him up?"
Justin didn't answer him, instead he walked towards Ryan's car and opened the door. "No fair!" Ryan shouted. "Answer my question..." Justin closed the car door and faced him again. "I can't let him hurt the girl I loved the most..."

Love and Acceptance
It was a busy morning, approximately 8:15 am, when an elderly gentleman, in his 80’s, came in to have sutures (stitches) removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry for an appointment at 9:00am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him.
I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had another doctor’s appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.
The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer’s Disease. As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now. I was surprised, and asked him. “And you still go every morning, even though she doesn’t know who you are?” He smiled as he patted my hand and said, “She doesn’t know me, but I still know who she is.”
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arms, and thought, “That is the kind of love I want in my life.”
True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.
It's too late
Jenny never expected that what she felt toward her best buddy Albert could ever be more than just brotherly love. They were together everyday, they have lunch together after their algebra class, have snacks together. They share secrets, but there was one thing that Albert didn’t know about Jenny… that Jen was falling in love with him. Jen kept it because she was afraid to take the risk of ruining their friendship. When she’s alone, she would just write a letter for Albert telling him how much she loves him then she would keep it inside her drawer.
Albert always asks for Jenny’s advice or what Jenny thinks about the girl he’s courting. Then Jenny would just reply with an aching heart.. “She’s pretty, you look good together.” She uttered those words with a smile, but a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes… she felt that her heart was cut by a sharp knife. Then Albert would then smile back at her and hold her arms.
One day, Albert came rushing to Jen’s house with a big smile. He told Jenny that he already has a girlfriend. Jen felt that all her dreams were shattered, her heart was broken into pieces… she wanted to cry out loud… to tell Albert that she’s loved him even when they were still young… but it’s no use… Albert loves somebody else… she came back to reality… she gave Albert a sweet smile and hugged him… wished him luck. Albert hugged her too, then invited her to celebrate with his new girl… but Jenny refused… she cannot afford to see her beloved Albert with another woman… it would hurt her terribly.. so she made an excuse, she said that she needed to go to the doctor for her monthly check up.
Then she left. She drove her car without knowing where to go… she was crying… the pain was so unbearable… she wanted to scream… Albert called her “princess” before… but that was before… everything would be different now… Albert has a new princess in his life… her eyes were full of tears and her mind was reeling with memories of the past ten years she shared with Albert… she didn’t notice the car coming towards her… then there was a big clash… then darkness….
When Jenny opened her eyes, she’s already standing in a corner inside a white room. She noticed Albert sitting beside a bed holding a piece of paper… Albert was crying… when she came close, she saw herself lying on the bed… breathless…. reality came to her… she’s dead… Albert couldn’t see her… when she looked at the paper, it was her letter for Albert… the one that she kept on her drawer! Then she heard Albert saying…
Jen… why didn’t you tell me what you really felt…? Why didn’t you tell me that you love me… I was just waiting for any sign from you… but you did not give any… i love you too Jen… since the time that i learned what love means, i already loved you… why did you leave me my princess….?”
Jenny wanted to comfort Albert… she came closer and hugged him but she couldn’t even touch him… her tears rolled down from her eyes… she wanted to ask God for another chance… another chance to live again… to be with his prince…… but it’s too late…
Only Time
Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived; Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others…… including Love. One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feelings prepared their boats to leave. Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island until the last possible moment.
When the island was almost totally under, Love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help. Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, “Richness, Can I come with you on your boat?” Richness answered, “I’m sorry, but here is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you.” Then love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, “Vanity, help me please.” I can’t help you”, Vanity said, “You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat.”
Next, Love saw Sadness passing by. Love said, “Sadness, please let me go with you.” Sadness answered, “Love, I’m sorry, but, I just need to be alone now.” Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, “Happiness, please take me with you.” But happiness was so overjoyed that he didn’t hear Love calling to him. Love began to cry.
Then, she heard a voice say, “Come Love, I will take you with me.” It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder.
Love then found knowledge and asked, “Who was it that helped me?” “It was Time”, Knowledge answered. “But why did Time help me when no one else would?”, Love asked. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is.”
Forever kind of love
In spite of terminal cancer and resulting pain, she never failed to give us a smile or a hug. Whenever her husband came to visit, she glowed. He was a nice man, very polite and as friendly as his wife. I had grown quite attached to them and was always glad to care for her.
I admired their expression of love. Daily, he brought her fresh flowers and a smile, then sat by her bed as they held hands and talked quietly. When the pain was too much and she cried or became confused, he hugged her gently in his arms and whispered until she rested. He spent every available moment at her bedside, giving her small sips of water and stroking her brow. Every night, before he left for home, he closed the door so they could spend time alone together. When he was gone, we’d find her sleeping peacefully with a smile on her lips.
On this night, however, things were different. As soon as I entered report, the day nurses informed us she had steadily taken a turn for the worse and
wouldn’t make it through the night. Although I was sad, I knew that this was for the best. At least my friend wouldn’t be in pain any longer. I left report and checked on her first. When I entered the room, she aroused and smiled weakly, but her breathing was labored and I could tell it wouldn’t be long..
Her husband sat beside her, smiling, too, and said, “My Love is finally going to get her reward.”
Tears came to my eyes, so I asked if they needed anything and left quickly. I offered care and comfort throughout the evening, and at about midnight she passed away with her husband still holding her hand. I consoled him and with tears running down his cheeks he said, “May I please be alone with her for awhile?” I hugged him and closed the door behind me.
I stood outside the room, blotting my tears and missing my friend and her smile. And I could feel the pain of her husband in my own heart. Suddenly from the room came the most beautiful male voice I have ever heard singing. It was almost haunting the way it floated through the halls. All of the other nurses stepped out into the hallways to listen as he sang “Beautiful Brown Eyes” at the top of his lungs.
When the tune faded, the door opened and he called to me. He looked me in the eyes then hugged me saying, “I sang that song to her every night from the first day we met. Normally I close the door and keep my voice down so as not to disturb the other patients. But I had to make sure she heard me tonight as she was on her way to heaven. She had to know that she will always be my forever love. Please apologize to anyone I bothered. I just don’t know how I will make it without her, but I will continue to sing to her every night. Do you think she will hear me?”
I nodded my head “yes,” unable to stop my tears. He hugged me again, kissed my cheek, and thanked me for being their nurse and friend. He thanked the other nurses, then turned and walked down the hall, his back hunched, whistling the song softly as he went.
As I watched him leave I prayed that I, too, would someday know that kind of forever love.

Story - I will wait forever - chapter 22
The hardest part of loving someone
is knowing when to let go,
and knowing when to say goodbye...
"So how do you find Paris, Macy?" Drew asked as he turned the stove on. Macy, who's still chopping the vegetables, looked at him. "It's a beautiful place! I wish I could go around Paris before the school starts..." she said. Daniel looked at her, and smiled. "Don't worry, we still have two more weeks before the school starts. Maybe we could show you around..."
"Yeah! It's a good idea!" Drew said. "I haven't gone to my favorite places since last semester. My schedule is sooo hectic!"
Macy got to know more about her flat mates as the talked. Even though they really don't have to get part-time jobs since their scholarship covered almost everything, she found out that the three are still taking part-time jobs "just to keep ourselves sane", as Drew puts it. Drew works as an intern in a fashion magazine, Cynthia works at the cinema as a ticket seller, and Daniel works as a waiter in a nearby cafe'.
"Actually, Daniel really didn't have to work because..." Drew paused as he saw Daniel looking sternly at him, and making a hand sign to keep quiet. "... because he's the super scholar!" he simply said. Macy got confused. "Super scholar?"
"Actually, my mom still sends me allowance although she knows I have work here." Daniel explained. "Oh, I see..."
As they were about to set the table, Cynthia got home. "I'm home!" she shouted as she entered the door. Drew rolled his eyes and put his hands on his waist. "You're late!" he said in a sarcastic tone. "I know, I know! I have to cover for the other girl because she's late..." Cynthia explained.
Cynthia put her things on the table, including her groceries. "Wow! Goodies!" Drew explained. "Yeah I know! That's the reason why I'm late, so don't complain!"
"Fine! Let me put this away..."
Daniel helped Drew with the groceries. "How's your sleep, Macy?" Cynthia asked. "It's OK..."
"Actually," they heard Drew said. "Daniel disturbed her..."
"Hey, I didn't!" Daniel said defensively. "It's OK..." Macy said. "I was having nightmares, and good thing Daniel woke me up..."
Daniel smiled. "Is that the reason why you were crying why you're sleeping?" he thought. Cynthia smiled at Macy, and put her arms around her. "It's OK, Macy. We're just teasing Danie." she explained. "Come one guys," Drew said. The three looked at him, as he put the food on the table. "Let's have dinner. I'm starving!"
====================================================================
Manila.
Ryan just finished his class. He was walking at the lobby, when he passed by Macy's locker. He stopped, as he stared at her locker. She still have her name on it, but there's no lock. He carefully opened the locker, hoping she left something inside, but the locker's empty. He was disappointed, so he just closed the locker. "She's really gone..." he thought. It has been three days after she left, and he felt his life has been hell. "It's all my fault..." he said to himself.
He felt a pat on his shoulder. He turned around, and he saw Justin. "Are you OK?" he asked. Ryan smiled at him. "Do you want me to lie?"
"Yes."
"I'm OK..."
"Good. I'm scared that my friend would commit suicide anytime soon..."
Ryan started to walk away from him. Justin followed him. "Man, it's a joke..."
"I'm not in a mood for any jokes, Justin..."
"But making your life a hell won't make Macy come back..."
Ryan stopped from walking, and faced Justin again. "I lost the girl I love. I was not able to stop her from leaving. I've treated her badly. I've hurt her, and no matter what I say, I know it won't ease the pain that she's going through... tell me if my life's a hell or not." he said. "Ryan, no matter how hard you try, you can never bring back those times and change everything..." Justin answered. "Both of you have to move on. She chose to leave so that she can forget the pain... you have to understand that, Ryan..."
Ryan lowered his head as he listened to Justin. "I know you miss him... we miss her as well, Ryan. She's my friend too. And I know, you're the one that's hurting the most. She needs time to heal her heart. One day she'll be back, and I know, when that time comes, she'll be ready to love you again..." Justin continued. "And if she does not?" Ryan asked. Justin smiles as he put his hand on his shoulder. "Then, you're not meant for each other, and you have to learn to let her go..."
===================================================================
Back in Paris.
It was almost midnight, and Macy can't sleep. She's at the front porch, staring at the stars. It has been her second night in Paris, and she's starting to be home sick. She's starting to worry about her mom, and her younger sister, Lia, and she's starting to miss her friends. Somehow, she felt that she's also starting to miss Ryan.
"Ryan..." she thought. The night that she saw Ryan and Meg together in bed, she felt like a part of her died. She was shattered. Ryan told her before that he wanted them to be together, but he decided to pursue his relationship with her cousin.
"The only girl that I want to spend my life with is you..." she remembered him say. "I never loved her... they're nothing compared to you..."
She could feel the tears starting to fall from her eyes again. She closed her eyes to stop it. "Stop crying, Macy..." she told herself. "He's not worth your tears..."
She decided to go to Paris to heal her heart. She knows that as long as she sees Ryan, she wouldn't forget him, and forgive him for hurting her. It was her last resort. She also knows that as long as she sees Ryan with other girls or her cousin, she'll be hurt. She have to move on, and no one can help her but herself. Moving on is simple, but what makes it difficult are the things that you leave behind. She have to leave the places and things that would constantly remind her of Ryan.
She knows it's going to be a tough one, but she have to be strong. She have to learn to love herself first, and then maybe someday, she might find another love...

Story - I will wait forever - chapter 21
because it's a constant reminder of one great
love story we never expected to come to an end...
Paris, France.
"Bienvenue vers Paris, Mademoiselle Macy Perea" (Welcome to Paris, Ms. Macy Perea) she thought as she walked to the exit the airport.
Paris.
It was supposed to be the most romantic city in the world, but here she is, alone and trying to mend her broken heart.
After getting her bags, she went to the waiting area of the airport. From there, she was greeted by a woman. "Êtes-vous mme. Macy Perea ?" (Are you Ms. Macy Perea?) she said, smiling at her. "Oui." (Yes.)
"D'ailleurs, je suis Greta Sommereaux, d'University de Paris." (By the way, I'm Greta Sommereaux, from University of Paris.) The woman said. She helped Macy with her things, and they went inside a van. "Ainsi, comment votre vol, mme. était-il Perea ?" (So, how was your flight, Ms. Perea?) Greta asked.
"Il Est OK. Juste fatiguant..." (It's OK. Just a little tiring...)
After a few minutes, they have arrived to the apartment where she is going to stay. "Vous partagerez cet appartement avec trois étudiants philippins." (You'll be sharing this apartment with three Filipino students.) Greta said as they unload her things from the van. As they entered the apartment, they were greeted by a girl and a gay.
"Mademoiselle Macy, they will be your flat mates. This is Monsieur Andrew Chen, and Mademoiselle Cynthia Santos." Greta said. Macy simply smiled at them as she shook their hands. "By the way," Greta said. "Where is Monsieur Ferrer?"
Just then, a guy came down from the stairs. Macy looked up at him, and she suddenly remembered him. "That's the guy who gave me the handkerchief!" she thought. The guy smiled at her as he extended his hands to her. "Hi! I'm Daniel!" he said. "I'll be your flat mate..."
===================================================================
Greta gave her a short orientation of what she would expect at the University, and she told her about the house rules. After showing her room, she left. She'll be sharing a room with Cynthia. "You must be really tired after that flight." Cynthia said as she helped Macy unpack her things. "Yes..." she said.
"So what are you taking up?"
"Electronics and Communications Engineering..."
Cynthia smiled at her. "You must be really smart!" she said. "Not really..." she replied, as she smiled back at Cynthia. "I'm taking up Theater Arts. Drew is taking up Fashion Design, and Danie's taking up International Studies..." she said.
"I think... I saw Daniel before..."
"You should. He used to go at your school."
After they finished unpacking her things, Cynthia excused herself because she have to go to her part-time job. "Take a nap first. I know you're tired. I'll be back before 6 PM." she said as she left the room. As soon as she's alone, Macy decided to rest and take a nap.
===================================================================
She find herself inside Ryan's pad. "What am I doing here?" she thought. She walked towards his room, and from the door, she could hear a faint noise. She slowly opened the door, and she saw Meg and Ryan kissing. As she watched them kiss, tears began fall down from her eyes. She slowly closed the door and ran as fast as she could.
She didn't have an idea where she's going to. What she knows is that she want to get away from the place, and heal her heart. She was running through a dark lobby, until she bumped into a guy. She immediately got herself back, and stood up. "I'm sorry..." she said. The guy handed her the handkerchief. As she took the handkerchief, she saw the guy's initial in it. "I remember this..." she thought. She looked up and she saw Daniel smiling at her. "Trust me..." he said.
===================================================================
Daniel watched Macy as she sleeps. He noticed that tears didn't stop flowing from her eyes. "I wonder what she's dreaming about..." he thought. Ever since the day he saw her, she has been either crying or running away. "Are you running away from something, that's why you're here in Paris?" he thought. He gently wiped the tears in her eyes. He thought that whoever have caused her to cry just didn't appreciate her at all. He doesn't deserve Macy at all.
Macy slowly opened her eyes, and she saw Daniel by her side. She immediately sat up from her bed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up..." Daniel said. He was a little worried because Macy might think that his intentions are not good. "No, it's OK..." she replied. "I was just wondering what would you like to have for dinner?"
Macy shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know..." she said. Daniel smiled at her and held her hand. "Come on..." he said. "Let's check what we could cook for dinner."
===================================================================
"Bonsoir, Macy! Bonsoir, Danie!" Drew said the moment he saw the two coming down from the stairs. "Bonsoir, Mademoiselle Drew..." Daniel said. The two sat down, as they watched Drew take out the food from the refrigerator. "I'm going to cook my ever famous recipe. Want to help?" Drew asked them. Daniel and Macy said yes , and they began to help Drew.

Story - I will wait forever - chapter 20
In every hello, there is goodbye, because we cannot hold someone forever in our arms…
Ryan rushed Macy at the nearest hospital. He was so scared that he’ll lose Macy. "Macy… please wake up…" he whispered to her as the ambulance rush her to the hospital. Once they reached the hospital’s emergency room, he called her mom, and told her about the accident. "Where’s my daughter?" Macy’s mom said the moment they saw Ryan. "She’s still inside. The doctors are attending to her, and they won’t let me in…" he explained.
Just then, the doctor came out. "You must be Ms. Macy Perea’s mother?" he asked. "Yes, I am."
"You’re daughter’s OK. We checked, and there’s no head or brain injury." The doctor said. Both Ryan and her mom were relieved when they heard it from the doctor. "But, she fainted… is that serious?" Ryan asked. The doctor smiled and shook his head. "That’s just normal, especially after bumping the head. She should be waking up after an hour."
==================================================================
The next day, Ryan visited Macy at the hospital. When he opened the door, he saw the nurse fixing her bed. "Nurse, where’s the girl who’s staying here?" he asked. The nurse looked up at him and smiled. "Oh, Ms. Macy Perea? The just went home. She said she’s fine, and she can rest at home." The nurse explained. Ryan said his thanks to the nurse, and went to Macy’s house.
Ryan went to her house, and her mom greeted him. "I’m sorry, Ryan, but she’s not feeling well. She have to rest first before…" her mom explained to him. Ryan was sad that he was not able to see Macy. Then, he remembered the bouquet of roses that he brought for her. "Please give this to her, ma’am, and please tell her to get well soon…" he said. He left after giving her mom the roses. What he didn’t know, Macy was watching him the whole time that her mom talked to him. She asked her mom that she can’t face him.
===================================================================
The following week.
Macy was able to go to school after the accident. She still avoids Ryan whenever he’s around. Ryan still tried to talk to her, but she always makes it look like she’s busy. Even her friend, Rica would avoid him.
One time, Ryan saw her by her locker as she was fixing her things. He got the courage to approach her. "Hi!" he said. Macy looked at him, and gave him a faint smile. She put her attention back to her locker. "Uhmmm I would like to say thanks for saving me last week…" he said. Macy did not looked back at him. "It’s my pleasure." She said. "Macy, can we talk?"
"We are talking."
"I mean… about us…"
"There’s nothing to talk about us."
He watched her as she put the things on her locker, and put it in a box. "Are you changing lockers?" he asked. "Yeah." She answered. After she finished putting her things on the box, she carried it and began to walk away from him. "Macy…" he called. Macy looked back at him. "I… I hope we could hang out… just like before…" he said. Macy just smiled and started to walk away from him.
====================================================================
Weeks have passed and it’s almost the end of the first semester. Ryan was worried because he hasn’t seen Macy around. He asked Justin about her, but he couldn’t give him a definite answer. "I wish I know where she is, but I really have no idea…" he would always say to him. His last resort is Rica. Even thought he doesn’t know she’s mad at him, he got the courage to talk to her.
He waited for her until her class was finished.
The moment Rica saw Ryan outside his classroom, she avoided him. Ryan ran after her. "Rica… please… I just want to talk to you!" he shouted. "No, sorry, I don’t talk to strangers!" she shouted back. "Rica, I’m you’re friend!" he shouted again. Rica faced him, and went to him. "Our friendship ended after Macy left." She said.
Rica blames Ryan for hurting her best friend. She’s also mad with Ryan because he’s the reason why Macy decided to go to France.
"I just want to know where she is…" he said in a low voice. "You want to know where she is? Why? Are you going to follow her?" she said in a loud voice. "Yes. I will follow her."
She could feel her body’s quivering because of her fury. "Stop hurting my friend." She said as she tried to stop her anger. "The reason why she’s not here is because of you…"
"Just let me know where she is…"
"Let her go, Ryan. I will not tell you where she is… she deserves to be happy." After saying that, Rica left him alone.
====================================================================
It was the day that she was supposed to fly to France. Since her flight is scheduled that evening, she decided to visit Ryan’s pad. She couldn’t get inside his pad, because the last time that she was here, she left her key.
"Hi! You must be Ryan’s girlfriend?" she heard a voice say. She turned around, and she saw his neighbor smiling at him. "By the way, I’m his neighbor. He said that if you came, I should give it to you…" she said as she hand her the key. Macy smiled at her. "Thanks…"
She opened the door to his pad, and went inside. She stared at his empty pad. There were a lot of good and bad things that they shared here. She would usually catch him kissing other girls, whenever she make a surprise visit. They would hang out to this place whenever they have time to waste. As she looked around, she remembered the first time that they met. She also remembered the day that he told him that she loves him, and that night when he told her that he also feels the same.
She opened the door to his bedroom, and the memory that lingers to her mind is the night that she saw her cousin and Ryan on his bed. Suddenly, she felt her eyes are wet again. "I love you Ryan…" she said to herself. "But my heart’s already tired of loving you…"
She held the silver angel pendant that Ryan gave her on her birthday. "This will be your guardian angel…" he said before. "If this is my guardian angel, then why didn’t it protected me from all the heartaches you gave me?" she said to herself.
She still love Ryan, but she’s tired of loving him, of waiting for him, of being hurt by him. She decided to go, because she knows it’s the only way that she can forget the hurt, and maybe someday, when he’s ready to love her, all the pain would be gone.
She took the pendant from her neck, and together with her letter, she placed it on his bed. "Goodbye, Ryan… I wish you happiness…"
===================================================================
Justin watched Ryan as he stared at Macy’s picture. He knows that his friend misses Macy a lot. Lately, Ryan’s not being himself. He knows that he’s always thinking of Macy. "Do you really love her?" he asked Ryan. He looked up at him and gave him a faint smile. "I do…" he said. "Have you talked to her yet?"
"I wasn’t able to find her…"
Silence.
"I made the biggest mistake of my life…" Ryan finally said. "I’ve hurt the girl I loved too many times… I told her she’s the one that I love, but she saw me in bed with her cousin…" he continued. Justin just listened to him. "I never loved Meg… I never loved the girls I dated before… it was always her… she’s the only girl I want to spend my life with…"
"Ryan, this is the moment that I’ve been afraid of…" Justin said. "She loves you, but one day, she will get tired because you chose to do your old ways instead of changing for her…"
"I know it, Justin. And I regret hurting her…"
Tears started to roll from his eyes. Justin’s hurt to see his friend hurting. He wanted to tell her where Macy is, but he remembered his promise. "Don’t tell him I’m leaving…" Macy told him. But he couldn’t bear to see his friend suffer, so he decided to tell him her plans.
"I have not been completely honest with you, Ryan…" he began. Ryan looked at him, and started to listen. "I know where she is all this time…"
"Tell me where she is, Justin. I’ll follow her…"
Justin took a deep breath before beginning what he’s about to say. "She’s leaving for France tonight. All the time the she’s not in school, she was in Baguio for her training. She took the scholarship grant in a French university…" he explained. "Why… why didn’t you tell me?"
"I promised her we won’t tell you… that’s the reason why Rica’s avoiding you…"
Ryan stood up from his chair. He was about to go, when Justin stopped him. "We think it’s for the best Ryan…"
"You don’t understand!" Ryan shouted at him. "I love her! You’re telling me to let go the girl that I’ve loved most!"
Ryan took his hand away, and ran. Justin called him again. "Ryan!" he said as he reach him. "Flight 206. 6:38 PM. You could still stop her."
===================================================================
Traffic caused Ryan not to be able to get to the airport on time. He went home, feeling so low. The girl that he loved most is gone, and it was all because of him. As he entered his room, he noticed the letter on his bed. "Was she here?" he thought. Beside the letter is the silver angel pendant that he gave her on her birthday. He took the pendant, and began to read the letter.
Dear Ryan,
Being with you for the past 2 years had been a roller coaster ride. It was fun, yet full of pain. Pain, because you always took me for granted. Pain, because I'm always on the sidelines. Pain, because no matter how much I loved you, you can never love me back.I try to hold back all the tears whenever I'm with you. But God knows, that I cry myself every night, hoping he'll hear my prayer - that someday, you'll realize my worth.I'm giving up something that I knew I never had from the start - your love. I'm letting go of all the good and bad memories that we both had. But most of all, I'm letting you go.I hope you will someday find the girl who will love you as much as I loved you, and I do hope that you will love her back...
Macy
Tears started to flow from his eyes as he read her letter. "She’s gone…" he said to himself. "The girl I love is gone…"

Story - I will wait forever - chapter 19
"All I ask is just a little honesty, though I know that you’re not coming back to me…"
Before midterms, the news broke out – Ryan Santillan and Meg Lorenzana are the hottest and newest couple of St. Joseph University. The supposed to be school project ended in bed, and since then, Meg would make sure that she’s always at Ryan’s side.
They were at Meg’s apartment, doing their school project, when Meg suddenly kissed him. Ryan tried to stop her. "Why, Ryan? Don’t you like me?" she said in a hurtful tone. "No, Meg… you’re pretty, and I know a lot of guys like you… but…"
"But what Ryan? Are you in love with someone else?"
Ryan wanted to tell Meg that she’s in love with her cousin, but before he could, Meg started kissing him. Being only a man, he was carried away. The long, passionate kiss ended up in bed, and the rest, they say is history.
Of course, Macy’s hurt about this, but she simply understood Ryan. She knows that he have to do his "because he’s the most popular guy in school." Knowing Ryan, she knew that his relationship with Meg would end soon, but that was what she thought. Their relationship lasted for two months. Justin was mad, because he thought Ryan would keep his word this time. He wanted to hurt him to defend Macy, but Macy stopped him. "I don’t want to ruin your friendship…" she said. "I did my best to patch things up between you two, I don’t want to be the reason why you’ll be strangers again…" she explained.
Macy wanted to talk to Ryan, but she never had a chance because Meg’s always by his side. Ryan also wanted to talk to her, but Meg would stop him. "What is it that you want from my cousin?" she asked every time he tell Meg that he have to talk to Macy. "I want to tell her something important…"
"Why don’t you tell it to me, and I’ll tell her?"
Deep in his heart, he knew that it’s still Macy that he loves. He tried to learn to love Meg, but she’s simply opposite Macy. Everything that she loved about Macy, he can’t see that with Meg. Macy’s understand, and Meg’s very jealous. Macy’s smart, but Meg is not. They would always fight about simple things. One time, they had a serious fight over his ex-girlfriend. They were not able to resolve it, and they broke up. The day after they broke up, Meg went abroad for a photo shoot. He was able to find a chance to talk to Macy.
He found Macy at the library. He took a seat beside her, as he watched her write her laboratory. "Macy…" he said in a low voice. Macy looked at him, and then continued writing. "Can we talk?" he asked. Macy didn’t respond. "My cousin might see us…" she said. "She’s not here…"
"But she might get mad at me…"
"We’ll just talk, Macy."
"About what?"
"About us…"
Macy looked up at him again. He could see her eyes are red and puffy from crying. "I didn’t mean to hurt you, Macy." He said. "I… I understand…" she could feel the tear were about to cascade from her eyes. Since the day she heard the news about him and her cousin, she would cry herself every night, until she could fall asleep. She would always dream about him, and when she wakes up, her eyes and pillow are already wet. "Macy, let me explain… please… I want to make it up to you." He continued.
They went to the chapel to talk. Good thing, there were no people around. "Meg and I broke up…" he started. Macy just looked at him as he talked. She was happy to hear about their break up, but she didn’t let it show. "I guess it’s really over this time…"
"Maybe you could still patch things up with her after she came back…"
"No, Macy… I don’t want to patch things up with her."
Ryan held her hand and looked her into her eyes. "Before we got together, there’s something that I’ve been meaning to tell you…" he said. "I love you, Macy. I wanted us to be together. Macy, I’m ready to tell the world that I love you… but Meg came into the picture, and…"
"And you started dating her." Macy said, finishing his statement. "It could’ve been any girl, Ryan. But why her? She was my favorite cousin…"
"I’m sorry Macy…"
Macy stared at the large cross on the wall of the altar. "Ever since we were kids, I envy Meg. She’s the prettiest among us, and their family is rich. She can get whatever she wants, while I have to work hard for it. And now, I still envy her because she got the man that I loved the most…" she said. He out his arms around her and hugged her. "Macy, you have my heart. From the start, you’ve always had it…"
"But you could never be proud of me… I accept now that we can never be together, Ryan…"
"Please don’t say that, Macy…" This time, Ryan’s already crying. "The only girl that I want to spend my life with is you. Only you, Macy. Please give me another chance…"
Macy looked up at him, as he wiped her tears. "Please say that you still love me, Macy…" he said. Macy nodded her head. "I do. I still do, Ryan Santillan…" He hugged her tight. This time he will be ready to tell the world that she’s the girl he loves, and he will never ever let her go.
==================================================================
Two days later.
They decided to have dinner together at his place. Ryan was busy preparing their food when suddenly, Meg came. "Hi, sweety!" she said the moment he opened the door. He was surprised when he saw Meg. "What are you doing here? We already broke up, remember?" he said. Meg entered his pad. "I know it was so unbecoming of me, but I missed you. Please give me another chance, please?" she said as she out her arms around her. He turned his eyes away from her. "I’m sorry, Meg. It’s over." He said. "Why? Is there someone else?" she asked. He looked her into her eyes before he answered. "Yes."
Meg was so mad, that he pushed him away from her. "No! You can’t do this to me, Ryan. I’m the one you love!" she shouted. He held her on her arms to stop her. "Meg, listen to me… I’ve loved her since the day I met her… She’s the one I want to spend my life with…"
"No! Ryan, I’m the one you love, not her! Please tell me that…"
Meg was already crying. Ryan didn’t answer her. "I’m sorry, Meg. I could’ve told you earlier… but…" Just then, Meg started kissing him. He stopped Meg, but she didn’t. Before he knew it, they were already in his room.
====================================================================
"I’m here!" Macy shouted as she opened the door to his pad. She turned the lights on, and placed the cake on the table. "Ryan? Ryan are you here?" she called. She went to the kitchen, and he saw the foods that he prepared. "He’s so sweet, he prepared my favorites…" she thought. She continued searching for Ryan.
She decided to go to his room. "Are you here?" she called again. There was no response from Ryan. She immediately opened the door, and what she saw shocked her. She saw Ryan and Meg lying side-by-side, naked. She felt her hands become numb, and she couldn’t think straight. She slowly closed the door, and the moment she did, she leaned on the wall, and slowly fell on the floor. The tears uncontrollably fell from her eyes. "How could you do this to me, Ryan… I thought you loved me?" her mind shouted. She lowered her head as she cried silently. "Why? Why do you have to do this to me?"
She stayed that way for several minutes. The moment that she was able to compose herself, she stood up and went to the table where she put the box of cake. She opened it. "Happy 18th month anniversary!" it says. She smudged the writing on the cake, and threw it. She left his pad with tears still streaming down her face. "It’s over Ryan…" she said. "Goodbye…"
===================================================================
He opened the door to his room to see Macy outside. She was not the same Macy – she cut her long hair, and she wore a short, formal dress. She looked prettier than before. He smiled at her. He ran to her and hugged her, but Macy remained stationary. "Macy! I missed you! I’m so happy you came back!" he said. He looked at her, to find sadness in her eyes. "Macy… is there something wrong?"
"I’m leaving, Ryan." She said bluntly, without any expression on her words. She was neither happy to see him, nor sad. He was stun. "Macy, please don’t leave… I love you…"
"I did love you, but it’s over. Someone’s there, waiting for me. I know he’ll take care of me… I know he’ll do things that you didn’t do… and most of all, I know that he loves only me…"
Ryan let go of her. She slowly walked outside his room, and he the only thing he can do is stare. "Macy!" he shouted. He ran outside his pad, and he saw Macy hugging a tall man. She looked at him lovingly, and she could see the happiness in her face. It’s a smile that he never saw when they were together. The guy and Macy looked back at him. "Goodbye, Ryan…" she said. Then, they walked away from him.
"Macy!" Ryan shouted. He opened his eyes, and he saw himself naked and alone in his room that morning. He remembered that Meg came. He was about to tell her about him and Macy, but she kissed him, and they ended in bed. "Macy…" he thought. He remembered that they were supposed to have dinner last night. He immediately put the blanket around him, and went outside his room. He saw a box of cake on the trash can. The greetings were smudged, but he can still read what it says. "Happy 18th month anniversary…" he read. "She was here!" He went back to the table and he saw the key that he gave her. "I blew it…" he said to himself. He was sorry that he got carried away with Meg’s kiss. He wished he just asked Meg to leave last night. "I have to find her… I have to explain everything to her…" he thought. He went back to his room to prepare, and to find Macy.
====================================================================
Justin and Rica were talking at the lobby when they saw Macy, walking as fast as she could. "Hey, Macy!" Rica called. Macy didn’t respond to her, but she kept on walking. "What’s wrong?" Justin asked Rica. She didn’t answer. Instead, she followed Macy.
Macy stopped in front of the bulletin board where the post about a scholarship in France is posted. She stared at it for a while, and then she took it from the bulletin board. The two saw what she did. "Macy!" Justin and Rica shouted. She still didn’t answer them. They followed her until she went to the Office of Academic Affairs. "What do you think she’s doing?" Justin asked again, still confused and worried about how Macy acted. "Let’s just wait for her to come out…"
Inside the office, Mr. Vicar greeted her. "What can I do for you, Ms. Perea?" he smiled at her. Macy put the posting on his table. "Send me to France." She demanded. Mr. Vicar leaned back and smiled at her. "I will. You will have to go to Baguio this coming week to..."
"I don’t care. Just send me to France next sem, Mr. Vicar. Send me anywhere…"
===================================================================
Justin and Rica waited until Macy got out of the office. "Macy…" Rica said. Macy looked at them, and gave them the news. "I’m going to France next month." She said directly. The two were surprised. "What?" Rica exclaimed. "Why are you making such hasty decisions?" Justin asked. Macy walked, as the two followed her. "It’s about time that I take that scholarship. There’s no use staying here at the university."
"Is this about Ryan?" Justin asked again. Macy stopped and faced them. She could already feel the tears about to fall on her face. Rica didn’t wait for her answer. Instead, she simply hugged her. Justin also hugged her, and she began to breakdown.
===================================================================
Ryan finally saw Macy. She was at the bus stop, waiting for the bus. "Macy!" he said. Macy saw him, and she decided to walk away from him. Ryan followed her until she was able to reach her. He held her arms, and called her. "Macy, please listen to me…" he said. "Let me go Ryan… I have to go…" she said. Ryan let go of her arms, and he watched him as she crossed the street. He still followed her, but he stopped in the middle of the street. "Macy please…" he shouted. Macy just ignored her. He knew how much he hurt Macy, and that whatever he does, she will never listen to him. He gave up, and decided to go at the opposite side if the road. Macy stood still as tears began to flow from her eyes again.
Then, she heard a loud honk from a bus. She turned back and she saw Ryan still standing at the middle of the street. "Ryan!" she shouted, but he couldn’t hear her. She threw her things and ran towards him. "This is the last time that I’m going to be your angel…" she thought as she run to save Ryan.
The bus is already a few inches away from Ryan. She pushed him until, they fell at the safe side of the road. Ryan was surprised, but when he saw the bus stop in front of his very eyes, he understood why Macy pushed him. Macy’s body was still over his, as she protected him. She looked down on him and smiled. "This is the… last time… I’ll be… your…angel" she said in a low voice. Ryan looked at her. Then, blood flowed out from his forehead, and she lost consciousness. "Macy!" he shouted. He tried to wake her up, but she didn’t open her eyes.

Story - I will wait forever - chapter 18
Ryan was lucky that his professor for his first class has not yet arrived. “He’s late, I’m not…” he said to himself. He greeted his classmates, and took the seat at the back. He took out the book from his bag, and read it.
“Excuse me,” he heard a girl say. “Is this the Natural Sciences class?” Ryan looked up, and he saw Meg. Ryan smiled at her. “Hey, Meg! Yeah, this is NatSci 101.” He said. Meg looked at him, and smiled. “Hey, Ryan! I never thought we’d meet again…” she said. She took the seat beside Ryan, and they chatted until their professor came in.
================================================================================
Since Meg is new in school, Ryan decided to tour her around the university after their classes ended. He was supposed to have a soccer practice that time, but their coach cancelled the practice because of an emergency. After their tour, they decided to eat at the cafeteria. “And this is the cafeteria, where most of the students hang out.” He said as they entered the cafeteria. “Ryan, thanks for helping me out,” she said as she held his hand. “I know my cousin’s really busy, so thanks for taking time to show me around the school…” she continued. “No problem. Since you’re Macy’s cousin, consider me as your friend as well.” He said.
They were about to eat when they saw Macy enter the cafeteria. Ryan quickly saw her, and called her to join them. “Hey, Macy! We’re here!” Ryan shouted. Macy waved at them, and immediately joined them. “I never thought I’ll see you guys here…” she said as she took her seat beside Ryan. “I though you have a practice this time?”
“Well, coach said he will just meet us tomorrow. He has an emergency that he need to attend to.”
After a while, Ryan accompanied Macy to buy her food. They left Meg alone at the table. “Why does she have to bother us?” she thought after they left. She has irritated when Ryan just talked to Macy, and he ignored her. “What does my nerdy cousin have that I don’t?” she thought. The two went back to their table as soon as they were able to buy food. Meg simply observed the two as they ate. Ryan would help Macy with her food, or wipe her face if there’s a sauce on her face. “Don’t tell me my cousin’s his girlfriend… they don’t look good together!” Meg thought. After they ate, Ryan said goodbye to the two girls and went to his class.
========================================================================================
Macy and Meg walked together to their next class. As they walked at the lobby, they talked about Ryan. “I heard Ryan’s a really popular guy here in school. Is that true?” Meg asked. “Yeah, he’s really popular because he’s part of the varsity team.” Macy answered. “Really? That’s cool! He should’ve been hanging out with the popular kids here in school… well, no offense to you…”
Macy shook her head and smiled at her cousin. “No… actually, we became close friends because I used to tutor him in calculus way back in first year.” She said. “Oh, that’s cool… does he have a girlfriend?” Meg asked again. Macy wanted to tell her cousin about his so-called relationship with Ryan, but she had second thoughts. “Should I tell her? But Ryan haven’t told me anything about us…” she thought. “I guess I’ll pass for now… I’ll explain to everything to her in the future…”
“Cuz?”
“Oh, I’m sorry… you were asking if Ryan have a girlfriend right now?”
Meg nodded her head. “Well, I didn’t see him hanging out with some girls this week, so it makes him single for this week… only.” She said. “Really? That’s great!” Meg, said, smiling from ear to ear. “I’m going to make him fall for me… I swear…” she thought.
Just then, a car stopped in front of them. A guy got out of the car, and walked towards Meg. It was his boyfriend. Meg introduced her cousin to her boyfriends, and after a small chat, she said goodbye to her cousin and went with her boyfriend.
========================================================================================
“Justin… I’m ready.” Ryan said. They were at the study hall that time, waiting for their next class. Justin, who was doing his assignment, looked at him with a confused expression on his face. “Ready for what?” he asked. “I’m ready to be good boyfriend to Macy…”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah… why? Is there something wrong?”
Justin went back to write his assignment. “Man, don’t be like that…” Ryan said. “Well, I’m just tired of hearing you say that… and every time you do, you’re in the arms of another girl…” Justin said. Ryan lean backed and smiled at Justin. “You knew that I’m just doing that to impress my teammates… but this time, I’m really sure.” He said. “Every time I see her, I’m falling more in love with her…”
Justin just smiled without looking back at him. “I see.” He just said. Ryan was a little irritated, and slightly pushed Justin. “Hey! My assignment!”
“I’m serious, Justin!”
Justin looked up at Ryan. “I’m also serious, man. If you can’t stop being a playboy, then don’t tell Macy that you want to commit yourself to her. You’ll just end up hurting her. But if you can behave yourself, then go ahead and propose to her.” He said. “Thanks man…”
“But,” Justin continued. “if you start to hurt her again, I’ll punch you in the face. I’m not kidding.”
Ryan simply gave him a doubtful look. “Are you sure?” he asked. Justin smiled at him, and pats his shoulder. “I’m not kidding.”
======================================================================================
The next day, their professor gave their project for that semester. “I’ll be grouping you into 15 groups. So it means, there will be two or three persons in that group. You need to investigate and research on your subject, and report your findings in front of the class.” Their professor said. “I hope we’ll be partners…” Meg whispered to Ryan as they listened to their professor. The professor called out the names that will be partners for the project. The two eagerly listened for their names, until finally, they were called. “… and the last pair is Ms. Meg Lorenzana and Mr. Ryan Santillan. Get your subjects on the table.”
Meg was so happy that she was partnered to Ryan. “Fate is on my side…” she thought. “Now I can plan how to make you mine…” she said to herself as she stared at Ryan. Ryan stood up from his seat to get their subject for their project. He stared at the paper that was given to him as he went back to his seat. “So what’s our subject?” Meg said as soon as Ryan sat on his seat. “I don’t know what this is, but this seems hard…” he said. Meg took a look at the paper. “Hmmm… Different kinds of pollutants and ways to eliminate it? That’s not hard…”
“I know, but sir said we have to cover everything.”
Meg simply smiled at him. “Don’t worry,” she said as she hold his hand. “we can do this project…”
====================================================================================
That afternoon, Ryan took Macy home. “Thanks for the ride.” Macy said the moment he parked his car in front of their house. Ryan smiled at her. “Anything for my angel…”
She kissed him on the cheek before she opened the door, but then, Ryan held her hand. “Wait…” he said. Macy looked at him again and smiled. “Yes?”
“I forgot to give you something…”
He leaned back from his seat to get his gift for Macy – it was a bouquet of red roses. She gave it to Macy, who was still surprised about his gift. “For you…” he said, then he kissed her on the cheek. “Thanks Ryan.” She said. Ryan kissed her again and said “I love you, Macy…”
============================================================================
Ryan just finished their soccer practice, when he saw Meg waiting for him outside the field. The moment he saw Meg, he waved at her. Meg immediately ran to Ryan. “Hey, what are you doing here?” he asked. “I’m here to tell you about our project. We need to discuss about the details, and we have to start soon…” she said. “OK, I’ll meet you later at the study hall.
Before she left, Meg, winked at him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He was shocked. His teammates saw this, and started to come near him. They were surprised with what they saw. “Man, that’s Meg Lorenzana… the cover girl…” one of his teammates said. “Man, I can’t believe he kissed you…”
“Is she your girlfriend or something?”
Ryan simply smiled at his teammates. “I don’t know…” he said, still in awe. “Maybe she likes you?” another teammate suggested. His teammates agreed in unison. “Guys… we’re just partners in our project… and besides, she doesn’t know me long enough…” he said. “But it still seems that she’s interested in you. Why don’t you date her so that you’ll know if she likes you? Besides, you didn’t have a new girlfriend since the school started. You used to have a lot” his teammates agreed again in unison.
Ryan didn’t want to date Meg or any girls in particular. He just wanted to focus on Macy, and he wants to prove to her and their friends, Justin and Rica, that he can be faithful to her. “After all the hurt I’ve done to her…” he thought. His teammates still badgered him about dating Meg, and he decided to give in. “One last time…” he thought. “Fine…” he told his teammates. “I’ll ask her out.” His teammates cheered for him.

Story (na naman na hindi matatapos): I will wait forever - chapter 17
“Nice meeting you, Ryan.” Meg said as she took Ryan’s hand. “I swear you’re going to be mine… nothing can stop me…” Meg thought. She didn’t want to let go of Ryan’s hand. “Welcome to St. Joseph University, Meg. Ryan said as she shook her hand. He could sense that Meg wanted to flirt with him, but he just ignored it since he’s with Macy. Justin could also see how Meg looked at him – like she’s going to devour him. He decided to break them up. “So Meg…” Justin said. “What course are you taking up?”
Meg let go of Ryan’s hand and looked at Justin. “Mass Com. Second year.” She said monotonously. “How about you?”
“Psychology. Anyway, welcome to St. Joseph University…”
Meg talked with Macy first to catch things up with her. As they talked, Ryan kept on staring at Meg. “I bet my angel’s prettier than her… if only she’ll change how she looks.” He thought. After a while, Meg said goodbye to their group, and left. As she walked away from them, Ryan kept on staring at her. “Still star struck with my cousin?” Macy asked. Ryan looked at her and smiled. “Yes…”You know what guys,” they heard Rica say. “we better go to the Main building to get our class schedules.”
“Yeah, I second the motion.” Justin said.
==================================================================================
They went to the university’s main building to get their class schedule. Macy and Ryan went to the far end of the building to get their class schedule. Justin accompanied Rica to get her own class schedule. “Thanks for coming with me here, though we both know that you’re supposed to get your schedule there.” She said, pointing at the other side of the building. “It’s OK. But you have to promise me you’ll go with me there to get my class schedule.” He said, smiling at Rica.
The reason why Justin went with Rica, is because he wanted to talk to her about Macy’s cousin. “There’s something about that girl that I didn’t like… I don’t know what…” he thought. He watched Rica as she scanned through the papers posted on the bulletin board. Rica felt a little awkward, knowing that Justin’s staring at her. “Hey, I can’t concentrate if someone’s staring at me…” she said.
“Oooops.. sorry…”
“Is there something wrong, Justin?”
He took a deep sigh before telling Rica what’s on his mind. “It’s Macy’s cousin…”
“I knew it? She’s your crush right?”
“Of course not!” he exclaimed. “I mean… she’s pretty and all, but there’s something about her that I don’t like?”
Rica gave him a startled look. “Justin, please don’t tell me you’re gay…”
“No, I’m not!”
“Then why are you starting to dislike Meg? You don’t even know her at all…”
“Maybe I’m just being paranoid, but there’s something about the way she looks at Ryan that’s bothering me…”
Rica stopped what she was doing, and started to listen to Justin. “There’s something about the way she looks at Ryan that I really didn’t like. And when she took Ryan’s hand, it’s as if she didn’t want to let go…”
“Maybe she thought she knew Ryan… or maybe she’s thinking Ryan could also be a model… you know… she’s a model and she could see if a guy has an X-Factor…”
Justin shook his head. Maybe Rica’s thoughts are right. He’s just being paranoid about it. “I guess I just have to see what will happen this school year…” he said. Rica smiled and pat his shoulder. “Good boy. Now, better get your class schedule so that we could join the two. I’m already starving.”
================================================================================
“Orders up!” Ryan said as she put the tray on their table. After getting their class schedules, the four decided to eat at the nearest restaurant. “Yay! I could all of these! I’m hungry!” Rica said. The three just laughed as they watched Rica eat.
After eating, Ryan decided to buy food again for his dinner. Rica, on the other and, went to the rest. They left Justin and Macy alone together. “Wow, I can’t believe we’re already in our junior year…” Macy said. “Yeah, one more year and we’ll graduate…”
“Not for us… we still have two years to go…”
Justin smiled at Macy and held her hand. “Mace, thank you for understanding Ryan… I hope you’ll never get tired…” he said. “I hope you’ll continue to love and trust him…”
“I assure you, I will…” she said, smiling back at him. Just then, Ryan came back. “Did I missed anything?” he asked. Justin let go of Macy’s hand and smiled at Ryan. “Nope.” He answered. “I’m just telling your angel how lucky you are to have her.”
===============================================================================
It was the first day of school. Ryan picked Macy up from their house, and they went to school together. He even walked her to her first class. “Thanks for picking me up, Ryan…” she said as they walked at the lobby. “Of course, anything for you, my angel…” he said. Macy stared at him as they walked. “Maybe the waiting is over… maybe he’s ready to commit himself to me…” she thought. Ryan noticed that Macy was staring at him. “Penny for your thoughts?” she heard Ryan say. Macy simply smiled at him. “Nothing… I’m just happy that you’re here with me…”
Before they knew it, they were already in front of her classroom. “I guess this is my stop.” Macy said. “OK. I’ll see you later after school.” Ryan said. Macy smiled at him, then she entered the room.
Ryan was about to go to his class. He was reading his class cards when he accidentally bumped into Meg. “Hey watch it!” Meg shouted at him. Her things fell on the floor, and Ryan helped her pick it up. Just then, Meg realized that it was Ryan. “Hi! I’m sorry, I didn’t know that it was you…” she said. “It’s OK… I’m sorry, I’m not watching where I’m going.” He said. After picking up her things, he handed it to her. “Here you go…”
“Thanks Ryan!’
“Anyway, I have to go. I’m going to be late for my class.”
After he gave her her things, Ryan dashed to his classroom. Meg watched him as he ran to his room. “This is just the start, Ryan. I’ll make you fall for me soon…”

The Dolls of Love
I have a boyfriend who grew up with me. His name is Jin. I always thought of him as a friend until last year, when we went to a trip from a club. I found that I fell in love with him.
Before that trip was over, I took a step and confessed my love for him. And soon, we became a pair of lovers, but we loved each other in different ways. I always concentrated on him only, but by his side, there were so many other girls. To me, he was the only one, but to him, maybe I was just another girl…
“Jin, do you want to go watch a movie?” I asked.
“I can’t”
“Why? You need to study at home?” I felt disappointment
grabbing me.
“No… I am going to meet a friend…”
He was always like that. He met girls in front of me, like it was nothing. To him, I was just a girlfriend. The word ‘love’ only came out from my mouth. Since I knew him, I had never heard him say ‘I love you’ before. To us, there weren’t any anniversaries at all.
He didn’t say anything from the first day and it continued till 100 days…200days… Everyday, before we say goodbye, he would just hand me a doll, everyday, without fail. I don’t know why…
Then one day…
Me: Um, Jin, I …
Jin: What…don’t drag, just say..
Me: I love you.
Jin: ……you….um, just take this doll and go home.
That was how he ignored my ‘three words’ and handed me the doll. Then he disappeared, like he was running away. The dolls I received from him everyday, filled my room, one by one. There were many…
Then one day came, my 15th year old birthday. When I got up in the morning, I pictured a party with him, and stranded myself in my room, waiting for his call. But… lunch passed, dinner passed… and soon the sky was dark… he still didn’t call. It was already tiring to look at the phone anymore. Then around 2am in the morning, he suddenly called me and woke me from my sleep. He told me to come out of the house. Still, I felt joy and I ran out happily.
Me: Jin…
Jin: Here…take this…
Again, he handed me a little doll.
Me: What’s this?
Jin: I didn’t give it to you yesterday, so I am giving it to you now. I’m going home now, bye.
Me: Wait, wait! Do you know what today is?
Jin: Today? Huh?
I felt so sad, I thought he would remember my birthday. He turned around and walked away like nothing had happen.Then I shouted… “Wait…”
Jin: You have something to say?
Me: Tell me, tell me you love me…
Jin: What?!
Me: Tell me
I put my pathetic self behind and clung on to him. But he just said simple cold words and left.
“I don’t want to say…that I love someone so easily, if you are desperate to hear it, then find someone else.”
That was what he said. Then he ran off. My legs felt numb… and I collapsed to the ground. He didn’t want to say it easily… How could he…. I felt that… Maybe he is not the right guy for me…
After that day, I stranded myself at home crying, just crying. He didn’t call me, although I was waiting. He just continued handing me a little doll every morning outside my house. That’s how those dolls piled up in my room… everyday
After a month, I got myself together and went to school. But what made the pain resurface was that… I saw him on a street… with another girl… He had a smile on his face, one that he never showed me…as he touched the doll… I ran straight back home and looked at the dolls in my room, and tears fell… Why did he gave these to me… Those dolls are probably picked out by some other girls…In a fit of anger, I threw the dolls around. Then suddenly, the phone rang. It was him.
He told me to come out to the bus stop outside my house. I tried to calm myself down and walked to the bus stop. I kept reminding myself that I am going to forget him, that… it’s going to end. Then he came into my sight, holding a big doll.
Jin: Jo, I thought you were pissed, you really came?
I couldn’t help hating him, acting like nothing had happen and joking around. Soon, he held out the doll as usual…
Me: I don’t need it.
Jin: What….why…
I grabbed the doll from his hands and threw it on the road.
Me: I don’t need this doll, I don’t need it anymore!! I don’t want to see a person like you again!
I spitted out all the words that were inside me. But unlike other days, his eyes very shaking.
“I’m sorry”
He apologized in a tiny voice.
He then walked over to the road to pick up the doll…
Me: You stupid! Why are you picking up the doll?! Just throw it away!!!
But he ignored me and just went to pick the doll. Then…
Honk~ Honk~
With a loud honk, a big truck was heading towards him.
“Jin! Move! Move away!” I shouted…
But he didn’t hear me, he squatted down and picked up the doll.
“Jin, move!”
HONK~!!
“Boom!” That sound, so terrifying.
That’s how he went away from me.
That’s how he went away without even opening his eyes to say one word to me.
After that day, I had to go through everyday with guiltiness and the sadness of losing him… And after spending two months like a crazy person… I took out the dolls.
Those were the only gifts he left me since the day we started going out. I remembered the days I spent with him and started to count the days… when we were in love…
“One…two… three…”
That was how… I started to count the dolls…
“Four hundred and eighty four… four hundred and eighty
five…”
It all ended with 485 dolls.
I then started to cry again, with a doll in my arms. I hugged it tightly, then suddenly…
“I love you~, I love you~”
I dropped the dolls,shocked.
“I….lo..ve…you??”
I picked up the dolls and pressed its stomach.
“I love you~ I love you~”
It can’t be! I pressed all the dolls’ stomach as it piled on the side.
“I love you~”
“I love you~”
“I love you~”
Those words came out non-stop. I…love you… Why didn’t I realize that….That his heart was always by my side, protecting me. Why didn’t I realize that he love me this much… I took out the doll under the bed and pressed it’s stomach,
that was the last doll, the one that fell on the road. It had his blood stain on it. The voice came out, the on that I was missing so much…
“Jo…Do you know what today is? We’ve been loving each other for 486 days. Do you know what 486 is? I couldn’t say I love you…. Um… since I was too shy… If you forgive me and take this doll, I will say that I love you… everyday… till I die… Jo… I love you…”
The tears came flowing out of me. Why? Why? I asked god, why do I only know about all this now? He can’t be by my side, but he loved me until his last minute…
For that… and for that reason… to me… it became courage… to live a beautiful life….
Story (na naman na hindi matatapos) - I will wait forever - Chapter 16
Macy saw Rica staring at a post on the bulletin board. It was a good thing that she saw Rica immediately, since they were supposed to go to the mall together. "What's that?" she asked Rica, who's still staring at the posting. "Wait... I'm still reading it..." she answered. Macy looked at the post, and read it:
France's finest University!
To qualify:
- You must have have an average grade of 1.75 or higher in your respective course
- Must have a good moral character, and no records with the Office of Disciplinary Action
- You must be willing to be trained in one of our training sites
"A scholarship in France?" Macy said as soon as she finished reading the post. Rica looked at her and smiled. "Yeah..."
"Are you going to try it out?"
"Of course not, my grades wouldn't pass the qualifications..."
They walked towards their lockers to put their things. "But I know someone who can win that scholarship..." Rica said. Macy knew that she was talking about her. "Oh no, Rica... I'm not yet ready..."
"Come on, Mace. Why don't you try it out?"
The truth is, Mr. Vicar already approached her about the scholarship. "You don't have to take the preliminary exams since your records already shows that you're almost overqualified for it... All you have to do is go to Baguio for the training, then, after that you'll fly to France..." he said. She turned down his offer, because she knows that she's not yet ready for it, and she'll be missing her family and friends, especially Ryan, when she go to France.
"I... I'm not yet ready... Maybe I'll try it out next year..." she said to Rica. Rica knows she wouldn't be able to convince Macy, so she decided to end the topic about it. "Fine... just promise me you'll try it out next year..."
===================================================================
After going to the mall with Rica, Macy decided to pay Ryan a visit at his pad. "Ryan..." she called his name as she knocked on the door. There was no reply from him. "That's weird..." she said to herself. "I thought he didn't have classes today..."
Then, she remembered the key that Ryan gave him the last time. She took it out from her bag, and looked at it. "Its about time that I use you..."
She out the key inside the keyhole, and then unlocked the door. "Ryan?" she called again, before she entered his pad. The moment she opened the door, she saw Ryan making out with another girl. She felt numb when she saw that seen, she didn't realized that she dropped the key.
Ryan and the girl got distracted with what they were doing. They looked at the door, and they saw Macy standing by the door. "Who is she, Ryan?" the girl asked. Ryan stood up and walked towards Macy. "Mace..." he said in a low voice. Macy tried her best to fake a smile, although she's already dying inside. "Sorry to came without a notice." she said, smiling at him. The girl stood up, and went to Ryan. "Hi! Are you Ryan's cousin?" she said smiling at her. "By the way, I'm Cheeney, Ryan's girlfriend..." Cheeney said, extending her hands to Macy.
Girlfriend... That word seemed to echo on Macy's mind. She wanted to tell her who she is in Ryan's life, but she realized that everything about them is a secret. "Secret... until when am I going to be a secret?" she thought. She immediately composed herself and smiled back at Cheeney. "Hi!" she said. "I'm Ryan's cousin, Macy." she said.
===================================================================
After a while, Cheeney decided to leave. Macy, on the other hand, was busy watching a cartoon on TV. She tried to laugh at the funny scenes in order to conceal her pain. After Cheeney left, Ryan sat beside Macy. He watched her as she laughed while watching the cartoons. "Macy..." he said. "Hey, look at that, isn't that funny?" she said between laughs.
"Macy... why are you pretending that it didn't matter to you? Why don't you tell me if you're hurt?" he thought. He stared at her, and he run his hands through her hair. Macy looked at him with a confused expression on her face. "Ryan?"
"I'm sorry..." he said in a low voice. Macy looked up at him. "Ryan... why do you have to say sorry each time I catch you with another girl, and then do those things again?"
"I... I don't know how to explain it to you... I feel guilty whenever you see me with another girl..."
Macy, held his hand and smile. "I know that you're doing these things to cover things up... I understand, Ryan... but sometimes it hurts a lot. I'm just trying to be strong for us..." she said. Ryan put his arms around her, and hugged her. "I love you Macy.." he said. Macy gave him a playful smile. "Are you sure?"
"Of course I am!"
He kissed her on the cheeks, and then he started to tickle her.
===================================================================
8 months has passed. Another school years has ended, and it's already summer. For the past 8 months, Macy was able to survive. From time to time, she would see Ryan with other girls. She would try her best to be OK, that things are as normal as they are, but after he leaves, she would go to the chapel or to the rooftop to cry. He would see her at the bus stop, talk to her, and comfort her, but she would pretend that she's OK. She didn't want to let him know that she's hurting inside.
Ryan was guilty as well. He was not able to spend much time with Macy just like before. He knows that Macy's hurt, but whenever he asked her about it, she would pretend that everything's fine with her. Even though he knows that he's hurting Macy, he would just do his old ways.
Summer came. And just like last summer, they would spend as much time as they could together. They even celebrated the day when they confessed their love for each other. They went to Justin's vacation house on that day, together with Justin and Rica. They had a camping that night to celebrate it.
===================================================================
Ryan watched Macy as she stared at the bonfire. "I've been loving her for a year, and yet I'm still not ready to be with her..." he thought. Ryan walked up to her and put his arms around her. "Are you doing OK?" he asked. Macy smiled at him and nodded. "We have been together for a year... I hope you're not getting tired of me, and my ways..."
Macy shook her head. "No, Ryan. I will never get tired of understanding you..." she said. "I'm sorry if I've been giving you nothing but heartaches for the past year... I'm sorry if I have been indifferent with you... I'm sorry I wasn't able to spend much time with you..."
She put his finger on his lips and smiled. "You're forgiven." she said. "I understand why you did the things that you did before. I told you before that I'm willing to wait for you, until you're ready... even if it takes forever..."
Ryan held her hand, and gave her a long kiss on the lips.
===================================================================
Days passed, and the summer ended again. Another school year will began, and they will be on their junior year and college. The four were together, as they enrolled for that semester. "Are you sure it's OK with you to be seen with us?" Justin told Ryan as they walked at the lobby. "But of course... they can't tell me who I can hang out with." Ryan replied.
Just as they were about to go the the Registrar's office, Macy saw a familiar face. She looked closely, at the girl, and she suddenly remembered who it was - it's her cousin, Meg.
Meg is little taller than Macy. She wore a tank top and a capri pants. She is a part-time model, and was once a cover girl for one of the best-selling magazine. "Meg?" she shouted. Meg looked at her and smiled. "Cuz!" she shouted. They ran to each other and hugged. "Cuz! I really missed you a lot!" Meg said. "Me too! I didn't know you're studying here!"
"Yeah, I'm a junior..."
"That's great! I'm transferring here because my old school wouldn't allow me to continue with my stints... so here I am..."
The three just watched as the two girls talked. "Isn't that Meg, the model slash cover girl?" Justin asked as they watched them. "Really? They knew each other?" Rica said.
After a short talk, Macy and Meg joined the group to introduce her cousin. "Guys," she said, "I want you to meet my cousin, Meg. Meg, these are my friends, Justin, Rica and Ryan."
Meg extended her hand and shook their hands. She last took Ryan's hand. "Cutie guy..." she thought. "Don't worry, you're going to be mine, Ryan..."

Story (na naman na hindi matatapos) - I will wait forever - Chapter 15
"How long will you allow him to hurt you? You didn't do anything wrong to him to make him treat you this way..." Rica asked when they went to the chapel that afternoon. "I don't know... I've been asking myself the same questions for the past weeks..." Macy answered. "He used to be so sweet... but since the school year started, everything have changed. I'm starting to think that his feelings have changed.."
Rica comforted her friend after they saw Ryan flirting with one of his so-called girlfriends. "How could he do that in front of Macy..." she thought. "How can she tell my friend that he loves her, and yet fool around with other girls behind Macy's back?"
===================================================================
Macy was about to go to the library when she passed by a classroom. From there, she saw a girl making out with another guy. "I wonder who this pair is..." she thought. She remembered that she also left her pen at that room, since his first class used this room that morning. She carefully opened the door at the back, and slowly crept inside the room. "Just let me find my pen and you can go on with your deed..." she thought.
The pair didn't noticed that Macy was able to get inside the room. Fortunately for Macy, she was also able to find her pen. "Gotcha!" she thought. She was about to exit the room, when she bumped one of the chairs, making a loud noise. This has distracted the lovebirds. "Hey!" the girl shouted at her. Macy turned around to say sorry for distracting them, but she was surprised when she saw Ryan with the girl. She was lost with words the moment she saw him. "What? Why are you here?" the girl demanded, giving her dagger looks. "I... I'm sorry... I just needed to find my pen here..." she said.
The moment she saw Ryan with this girl, she felt her heart being stabbed and torn into a million pieces. She wanted to cry again, but she tried her best not to let them see the tears that's about to come out of her eyes. "I'm really sorry..." she said again. The girl was about to walk towards her and hurt her, but Ryan stopped her. "Jane, don't mind her... we have to leave or we'll be late for our next class." He said. Jane simply walked towards her and crossed her arms. "You're lucky, my boyfriend stopped me. Next time, don't just barge in a room... Nerd!" she snapped. Macy just kept her head low as she listened to Jane.
As they left the room, Macy watched them. Ryan, looked back at her, with blank look on his face. "Ryan... why are you doing this to me?" she said to herself.
==================================================================
Macy walked as fast as she could. She doesn't know where she's heading to, but she knows that she have to get away from this place. She walked as fast as she could until she could no longer see her way. Just then, she bumped into someone. Her things fell, including her eyeglasses. Although she's half-blind without her glasses, and because of the tears on her eyes, she bent down to get her things.
She tried to reach for her glasses, but before she knew it, somebody was handing it to her. "Here you go..." a guy's voice said. She took her glasses, and immediately wore it. Then, the guy handed her his handkerchief. "Here... wipe your tears..." he said. Macy just looked at the handkerchief as the tears started to flow. "Are you OK?" the guy asked again. She didn't replied.
The guy extended his hands to her. "Come with me... Let's go somewhere quiet so that you could cry..." he said. Macy just looked at him, with a confused expression on her face. "Trust me."
===================================================================
He lead Macy to the building at the back to the university's chapel. They went up to the building until they reached the rooftop. "Isn't this a nice place?" the guy said. "You can shout all your worries in the world whenever you're here..."
Macy went to the left side of the rooftop, and looked down. "Hey..." the guy said. "don't think of committing suicide..." he joked. Macy looked up to him and smile. The guy smiled back at her. "See? You looked cuter when you smile, princess..." he said. The guy went near her. He watched her, as she began to wipe her tears using his handkerchief. "Sometimes it's OK to cry... you don't have to hold it... you can cry until you're tired... then just before you knew it, you're OK..." he said.
Macy began to breakdown. She didn't said anything, and the guy simply watched her and listened to her as she cried. The guy didn't asked or said anything, but instead, he just pat her back as she cried.
After a few minutes, she stopped crying. "Are you OK now?" he asked. Macy looked up at him and smiled. "Yes... thank you so much.." she said. The guy smiled, and started to walk towards the exit. As she watched the guy leave, she suddenly remembered his handkerchief. "Hey, wait!" she shouted at him. The guy looked back. "Macy walked towards him, and then handed him his handkerchief. "You forgot this... if you want, I'll wash this first then..."
"Don't worry about that. Just return it to me when you're done crying."
"But..."
Before she could even protest, the guy left her. She looked back at the handkerchief, and then smiled. At the lower right corner of the handkerchief, he saw the guy's initials - D.F.
==================================================================
It was almost night time when Macy decided to go home. She was waiting for the bus at the bus stop when Ryan's car stopped in front of her. He opened the car's window and smiled at her. "Come on, I'll take you home..." he said. Macy faked a smile as she turned him down. "Macy, please..."
"I'm really OK... The bus will be here anytime soon..."
"Macy, please... we need to talk..."
Macy was hesitant, but she decided to get inside Ryan's car. She knows that he will only say sorry, and that he will explain everything that she saw that afternoon. Ryan was quiet as he drove. Macy simply watched him. She could feel that Ryan wanted to tell her something, but he doesn't know where to start. "So..." she said, breaking their silence. "that girl is one of your girlfriends, huh?" she said, as she faked another smile. Ryan looked at her apologetically. "I'm really sorry, Macy..." he said.
"Hey, it's OK! You don't have to worry about me. I'm OK..."
"Macy... please don't act as if you're not hurt..."
Macy became silent. "I... I'm really OK... trust me..." she said. Ryan held her hand and kissed it. "Macy... she's nothing compared to you. She could never be like you... and I never loved her..." he said. "I know where I stand..." Macy said. "I know this is a secret, and I know we're not committed. I understand, really... you don't have to explain everything..."
"I'm sorry if I'm not spending much time with you... promise, I'll make it up to you..."
Before they knew it, they were already in front of Macy's house. They said their goodbyes, and Ryan kissed her on the cheek before she got out of his car. As she was opening their gate, Ryan called her again. Macy looked back at him, and smiled. Ryan went out of his car, and walked towards her. "I forgot to give you this..." he said. He handed to her a key. "A key? For what?"
"That's the key to my pad..."
Macy gave him a confused look. "But why?"
"Well, since we don't see each other that much at school, maybe we could hang out at my place..." he said. "Macy smiled at him. "Thanks..." she said in a low voice. Before Ryan left, he planted a kiss on her forehead.

Story (na naman na hindi matatapos) - I will wait forever - Chapter 14
It has been weeks since their classes started. Since the first day of school, Macy haven't heard anything from Ryan. He would call her once, but after that, he didn't called again. She has been hearing rumors about him and a girl from another school, but she wouldn't believe it until she heard it straight from Ryan.
There would be times when she wanted to cry, but she's still trying to be strong and put a happy face in front of their friends. Justin knows better - he knows that Macy's already dying inside. He tried to talk to her about their set-up and her feelings, but Macy would just joke around and smile. He tried to talk to Ryan, but whenever he confronts him, Ryan would deny the rumors about him and another girl, and would assure him that he loves Macy. Bu then, he would go back to his old ways and date other girls.
One time, Macy finally saw Ryan with his teammates at the cafeteria. She decided to talk to him, but he's with his friends. "But I have to..." she said to herself. She took a deep breath as she walked towards their group. As she approached them, the group looked at her, as if they want to shoo her away. "Ryan..." she said in a low voice. "Can I talk to you?"
Ryan looked at his teammates before he could answer. "Uhmmm... can I just talk to you later... we're having a meeting here..." he said. She simply smiled at him, then started to walk away. As she was about to exit the cafeteria, she heard his groups started to laugh and talk about her. "Who the hell does she think she is?" she heard one of the say. "Yeah..." she said to herself. "Who the hell do I think am I to talk to the superstar?"
===================================================================
"She's... she's just my tutor..." Ryan said in a low voice as soon as Macy walked away from them. He watched as Macy slowly walked out of the cafeteria. He wanted to run to her and tell her that he's sorry for not talking to her for the past weeks. "But you used to hang out with her last year?" Jim, one of their teammates said. "Oh that? Uhmm... well... she's my math tutor so I have to hang out with her... you know... so that I can pass calculus!" Ryan boasted. He could hear that most of his teammates were applauding and praising him. "And... well... she helped me with one of my papers so I have to be really nice to her..." he continued.
"Well then..." their team captain, Jules, said. "Since you're friends with this nerdy girl, can you ask her to do my research paper? It's really a simple one..."
"I'll try to tell her about it..."
"Don't try it, Ryan..." Jules said as he put his arms around Ryan's neck. "Do it."
===================================================================
After trying to approach Ryan, Macy went to the chapel. The chapel has been her sanctuary every time she wanted to cry. She would go there to pray, and ask God for strength. "God, I just wanted to talk to Ryan... but why can't he find time to talk to me?" she prayed silently.
Just as the tears started to roll from her eyes, someone handed her a white handkerchief. She looked up, and she saw Rica smiling at her. She smiled back at Rica.
"Are you OK?" she asked as she sat beside her. "Yes... don't worry about me..." she answered.
Silence.
"Macy..." Rica finally said. "I can't exactly tell that I know how you feel... but I just want you to know that I'll always be here for you..."
"Thanks, Rica..."
"You can always tell me your problems, especially if it's about Ryan..."
Again, there was silence. Rica just watched Macy as she wiped her tears. "Mace... sometimes it's OK to cry, especially if you can't take it anymore... there's no laws about crying..." she said in a low voice. "I can't Rica..." Macy answered. "I want to be strong for him... for us... I can take this... trust me."
Rica put his arms around her friend, and hugged her. She wanted to comfort her friend, for she knows she's going through a lot of pain.

She was about to go to her next class when she saw Ryan waiting for her at her classroom. "Ryan?" she said. She was excited to see him. She never thought that Ryan would wait for her at her classroom. "Hi..." he said, smiling at her.
"Hey..."
"How are you?"
"I'm doing OK..."
Ryan didn't know how to tell her about his favor. He knows that it's not right for him to ask Macy to do somebody else's report. "I... I don't know how to tell you this... but I really need a big favor..." he started. "If I could help you... I would..." Macy said. He started to tell Macy about their team captain, Jules, and then he asked her if she could do his research paper. "Why would I do that?" she said sarcastically. "Please, I'm begging you... Mace. I'm doing this to save my butt... Jules has been picking on me since I joined the team..." he explained. "Please, Macy... please do this for me..."
As much as she wanted to say no to Ryan, she decided to help him do Jules' research paper. "OK, give me the details of this research paper..."

"Didn't you get any sleep?" Rica asked Macy the moment she saw her at the Math Org, sleeping. Macy woke up, and looked up at Rica. "Hey.." she said in a sleepy voice. "I know you, girl. You always try to finish all your assignments, but it's very unlikely of you to stay up all night to finish it..." Rica said as she sat beside Macy. "I had to finish a research paper..."
"For what?"
"For... uhh... Anatomy..."
Rica raised her right eyebrow when she heard her answer. "Since when did Engineering had an Anatomy subject? From what I know, you didn't enroll in that subject!" she said. "I know... I'm doing Ryan's paper actually..."
"Since when did Ryan had a research paper for Anatomy? He doesn’t have that subject, does he?"
"Yeah... but... this is..."
Just then, Ryan came. "Hey girls!" he said, smiling at both of them. "Hey yourself! Why did you have to ask Macy to do your research paper?!" Rica said. "Rica, don't be mad at me... I'm just asking her a favor to help me with my research paper..."
Macy took a blue folder from her bag, and handed it to Ryan. "Here's Jules' research paper..." she said. Rica looked at her with furious expression on her face. "Jules? You did somebody else's paper?"
"It's OK, Rica. I'm not doing anything, and I volunteered for it..." Macy lied. Ryan scanned her work, then smiled back at Macy. "Thank you so much, angel!"
Just then, a girl went up to Ryan and kissed him. "Come on, sweetie... we'll be late for the movies..." the girl said. Ryan said goodbye to them, and left with the girl. Rica and Macy just watched them, as they walked away. "I can't believe he's doing this to you..." Rica said, shaking her head. "It's OK, Rica... remember that everything's a secret..."
"But until when are you going to let him date other girls?"
Macy just let out a huge sigh and said "Until he's ready to commit himeslf to me, and tell the world that he loves me..."
To be continued...
